Airport arrival decision center

Will you clear the airport before the last practical transfer?

Build the plan around immigration, bags, children, and delays—not the published landing time. Run the arrival-risk planner first, then compare transfer costs and airport-hotel fallbacks.

Start with the airport you will actually use.

Each page is a risk checklist, not a promise that any train or hotel is open. Confirm current schedules and terminal access before travel.

Decision sequence

Use this arrival workflow.

  1. Run the arrival-risk planner.
Build a station-ready clock from landing time, airport processing, delay buffer, bags, and children.
  2. Price the ground move.
Compare train, bus, taxi, and private transfer for the full party and bags.
  3. Build a practical arrival clock.
Add immigration, baggage claim, customs, ticketing, and walking—not only landing time.
  4. Check the last safe connection.
If one delay breaks the plan, price the airport-hotel or private-transfer fallback now.
  5. Choose the hotel zone.
Terminal, airport-area, first city base, or continue to the final neighborhood.
  6. Protect luggage and connectivity.
Keep essentials with you; decide eSIM/Wi‑Fi before you need maps offline.

Need a hotel search after the risk check?

Use the arrival guides and transfer calculator first. Then search with the same dates and full party. Japan Answers does not show live inventory.
